I was listening to a sermon by Francis Chan earlier today and he was talking about his time overseas after he left Cornerstone and before he moved to San Francisco. He said that he was asked to speak at a conference and the conference was completely comprised of persecuted Christians. He wanted to know more about their sufferings and persecutions than preach a sermon, so he asked them. They would...

I think the most difficult part about accepting the job with Camfel is declining all other job interviews to the hundreds of companies I applied for (I’m not exaggerating at all). It’s not just declining interviews though. I’ve been declining some full time jobs, but in all honesty I would rather do work for the Kingdom than sit in an office all day whether it be at a University...

Hiking Garcia Trail was super fun! Thank you clouds for covering up the sun for about 75% of the hike so we did not burn. My legs are gonna be a little sore tomorrow, but a good sore. My goal for the summer is to run the 5 mile trail off of Mills. I have a little over a month before I leave, so I basically have a month to train for it. I’m excited :)

TheSimpleThings: love wins. →
deliziainme: love wins. i know i’m behind in this whole rob bell controversy, italy does not care about such issues. i haven’t read the book, so i cannot judge it in anyway, and i am in no position to judge rob bell. i have, however, read some of his other stuff, and to be honest, i am not exactly a fan. all i know is that the Word of God, the Holy Bible, is the truth. if a person ever...

Had a super fun day today! Spent a good majority at the beach with great friends. When I got home watched a movie, ate dinner, and now I’ve been watching a Q&A Panel at the Resolved Conference, which I went to in 2007 in Long Beach, CA. This year the speakers are John MacArthur, C.J. Mahaney, Steve Lawson, Al Mohler, and Rick Holland. These men of God are HILARIOUS, especially C.J., and...

I was watching a movie earlier today and a quote from it really hit home for me: “It’s not about the destination as much as it is about the journey.” I feel it’s really relevant to my previous post about giving up my preferences on where I’ll be traveling to in 2 months for the next year. I honestly could care less about where I go, but the journey in its whole will...

Last night as I was falling asleep I was thinking about this next year. You know, I have it pretty set in my mind that I will be in Chicago, Boston, or Miami, but that’s MY plan. It’s not God’s plan. I want to be sent wherever God sends me. Where He sends me I’ll go. I see many reasons why I have Chicago as my number one choice, but what’s God’s divine plan for...

Super duper fun day today!!! Why, in college, did we not have any pool parties? There were a few parties where there was a pool, but no one went swimming. Super fun day swimming and hanging out with some AMAZING friends: Farah, Kaitlin, and Julianne. We’ll all be in different countries (or a different part of the country for me) for the sake of the Gospel and sharing Jesus’ love with...

Today was a very enjoyable day, but it didn’t start that way. I got to my friend’s house to have our morning worship sesh before we headed out to hike around Mt. Baldy. Well, I’m not gonna lie, I was a bit nervous yet excited to lead worship on guitar (not on djembe for the first time in my life). There were just 3 of us total, but numbers don’t matter to God.  So, I get...

It’s a bit weird yet exciting to think that in 1.5 months I will be gone and in LA with my new coworkers and in 2 months I will no longer be in California. There have been many many goodbye parties. Shoot, there was even one for me even if the party wasn’t titled that way. I’m leaving behind just about everything and hitting the road for Jesus. Friends are going all over the...

Such a good day today! Grad party for a friend I’ve known for 15 years. 15 years!!! Then, I went to a wedding for a good friend of mine. It was soo nice to see her again as well as all my other friends. Lots of goodbyes, but I’m excited to see God sending us all over the world for His glory. I apologize for not blogging more, but these past 7 days have been pretty crazy and busy. Ok,...

Blessed
I may have made a post similar to what I’m about to post about, but I honestly don’t remember and it’s been on my heart lately. We’re beyond blessed being in America. Just having a place to sleep, a car to drive, a bike to ride, clothes to wear. We’re so blessed and we don’t even know it. I forgot which sermon I was listening to, but they were talking about how...

My New Job
So, I know that some of you may be interested in the job I got yesterday. Well, the company is called “Camfel Productions” and Camfel is short for Campus Fellowship. I will be a multi-media technician with them. Basically, I will be traveling to elementary through high schools (mainly high schools I think, but I’m not 100% sure) and showing a video. The video was filmed recently...

This weekend was a blast! My flight left Saturday morning at 1:15am; I had a layover in Houston from 6:00am-7:30am; Got into Cleveland at 11:25am. On the flight to Cleveland I sat next to a very nice elderly couple from Houston going to New Hampshire to visit their grandchildren. They were wonderful people to talk to and am blessed to have talked with them for 3 hours. Adam’s parents picked...

Last night was the CRU Grad party. I honestly still have no idea how many of us are graduating this year, but I heard it was 16ish. That’s a lot and there were a lot of people there last night. It was soooo good to see everyone again after not seeing them for basically the whole quarter. A bunch of people wrote notes of encouragement and goodbye and I just read them all and I can’t...

A six year old on America’s Got Talent said this: Piers Morgan: Do you know what the prize is if you win the whole competition? How much? Young J: A Million dollas! Piers Morgan: Ya. What would you do with that? Young J: I would buy a big big house and put lots of kids in there that don’t have a home and put lots of toys in there so they can play all day! The kid has been raised well...

Worship
I grew up in a church that sings mainly hymns for worship, and I still go there now. When I entered college I had never really experienced other ways to worship God. One moment that changed that was when I went to a Winter Conference hosted by Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU) my freshman year. Over 1,000 people gathered, mainly college students, worshipped God in so many different ways and to more...

What a wonderful, yet tiring day. Had my interview at Pepperdine and it went well. Got to longboard around Santa Monica a bit and then sit and stare at the ocean as I was resting. Read a little C.S. Lewis at Barnes & Nobles. Got to hang with Rebecca and Rachel. They have been such a blessing in my time in college and I’m really sad to see us all go our different ways, but I know that God...

I stayed up a bit late last night and watched the new X-Men with a bunch of friends. I super enjoyed it! So, I decided to sleep in today because I stayed up later than expected, but I’m not sure it was good waking up to a call from Pepperdine about the job opportunity. Hehe, the lady was telling me all this info and I was seriously taking so long to answer and I kept saying “uh...
